Our tour in malaysia was mainly for bhajan in patthamalai -batucaves Lord muruga was all in grandeur and magnificent.Climbing the steps of the cave was not all that dificult and the cave was a natural abode of muruga. All the members in our group could climb and we had a short bhajan there at the top.Nagesh was in his great self when the singing was divine experience .the bhajan continued in ihe perumal temple and the song list was mostly changed incorporating thiruppugazh songs in praise of vishnu.the temple gurukkal provided the prasadam.

kadhrgama kandan arul
we 53 members of thruppugazh anbargal from bangalore planned to go to kadhigamam.our experience at the maha devalayam was indescribable.the group comprised of all senior citizens average age 67.We reached the temple premises around evening 6.30.the temple was heavily crowded and surely it was some 10000 thousand people around and about 1500 in the Q.we were standing outside and it was pooja time and the darshan had stopped. after the pooja it would easily take 2 to 3 hours for darshan as ther was only one QUEUE.all the members in our group were very tired and were not even able to stand .Our leader shri knk and shri nagesh decided to say kandar Anubhuthi and leave the temple.Shri nagesh led the anubhuthi and all of us were fervently appealing for darshan.After anubhuthi shri nagesh was recitng vel muruga and the recital was going on.suddenly one person came from the temple and told Wait. immediately after pooja we take your group st to the sanctorum and you sing some thiruppugazh and have darshan."Adiyar venduvathai veradhu dandar "Kadirgama kadavul azhaithu darisanam dandar"Engal guruvin arulal avan abhinava padma pada darisanam kidaithathu After that we sang kadhirgama thiruppugazh in his sannadhi.
Recently i saw one posting about kadhirgamam It is beleived that skanda is in kadirgamam in manushya roopam preferably as a old man.beggar,sanyasi.When people get into problems he in the guise of oldman or beggar alleviates the problems.Alsoit is the belief of people loose talks and gossip is not tolerated by the gods.Our experience of the god's darshan with wth recital of anubhuthi has disclosed the truth of the benevolence of our guruji

kandy-katargamam-day 3
27 th saturday
Got up at 4am and after heavy breakfast left for katargamam.crossed through nuvelia a hillstation in line with ooty.lot of nurseries en route.The ashoka vana of ramayana was seen .Sita.s bathing ghat ,the spot where anjaneya lit fire to srilanka ,his footprints adjoining templeof rama were quickly covered.on the way saw a mountain shaped as huge elephant with eyes and ears in full shape and four legs visible'It was termed as Iravatha. by the guide.No of falls were ther one is named after Ravana .The guide gave one interesting news That ravana means one who cries nonstop.HEcried for 16 years when he tried to lift Mount kailash and lord shiva pressed him with his toe on the mountain.Checked in tissnamara hotel and our room had no lock.Got it rectified and proceeded for temple.
The temple was extremely crowded and people were taking six varieties of fruits and flowers for shanmuka for offering.when we entered it was evening pooja (kala sandhi) and the pooja samakriyas were taken in to the temple also they offer only those flowers which bloom in a day and wither on the same day. Since the crowd was easily in thousands shri knk felt that we leave the temple after saying anubudhi and return early morning for the darshan.as we finished anubuthi and vel muruga chanting we were specially ushered for darshan of muruga. Wirh "Guru arul" we sang katargamam thiruppugazh and" kanavilum nanavilum abhinava padma padam maravamal vendi thirumbi vandom"Came and sat in deivanai sannadhi and and sang in very low tones."Mounathai uttru unara Andavanin Kattalai vandathu" prasadam at kathigama temple as night dinner and returned to hotel
28th -sunday-Everyone felt must come back for morning darshan and hece got up at 4am and reached temple 5.am and and had the darshan to the heart"s content.morning saw the temples around devi,Lakshmi,Shiva,Durga,Vibhishana.In all the temples gods were worshipped only on screens. no vigraham. The temples for vibhishana is another interesting factor.It is the belief that the rulers of sri lanka that if they worship vibhishana thei rule wil last long as he was made king by Rama.Even buddhist and sinhala rulers pray vibhishna.Return to colombo through coastal road.
All along the the coastal drive was wonderful.The guide showed one island asthe sanjivini mountain thrown by hanuman after usingthe herbs for Laksmana.The Mathara beach is more rocky than sandy and it was fullmoon day the tides were quite high.the rock and tides inspired sarojam sing Uyire in full throat. But venkatesan mama was not to be perturbed at all .Enroute saw galle cricket stadium visited a tea factory.purchased tea for friends.Usha was in high spirits and myself busy.preparing .coffee and supplying one sip to allEvening tried for shopping but the shops were closed because of fullmoon.Srilanka observes holiday on fullmoondays.Buddha temple was vrey much crowded and we were satisfied going round the temple. and vibhishana temple.After a long drive our spirits were raised playing antakshri in old tamil songs. Raji ramajayam and kanchani's repertoire was astounding.Retuned late to the hotel andgot ready for leaving colommo

tiruppugazh anbargal at kadirkamam and kandy
we 53 thiruppugazh anbargal (average age of the group64)set for the the dharshan of "kahirkama verpil uraivon " on 25th feb.GR tours of Bangalore were our tour operators who were selected by our chairman shri knk after stringent interviews.SrilankanAirways provided dinner and landed at rt time at colombo.we proceeded to negombe for hotel stay .During immigration a man asked usha {the little girl of our group"in HER thirties) ARE u taking the inmates of a oldage home for a tour?
26 th feb :got up at 5 am and started for kandy. The rural picture of kandy is so fascinating flowers in full bloom rose ,hibiscus ,arali ,nandibtta and labranum.The landscape very similar to kerala and people also dress and life style resemble keralites and tinneveli side.Red anthuriams are in plenty and a feast to the eyeThe first spot we visited was elephant orphanage at pinnamara where there were 84 elephants including babies.Feedingbaby elephants was a show for the foreigners but the feeding of baby elephants with bamboo tubes is commonly seen in india particularly in guruvayoor.From there we were taken to a herbal garden .saw plenty of cocoa trees .the garden in charge was luring us withso many herbal remedies for arthritis asthma diabetis and what not.we gave a patient hearing but our pockets were full of the cash with which we enterd .since prices of remedies made us think we can as well buy some land in srilanka to have a herbal garden.
had lunch at gangadhara and again travel by ac coach REached kandy aroun 100 pm Rested at hilltop hotel We were doing lot of getting into the bus and and out of it .many ideas were coming up for all to get down simultaneously one such was a sliding door for the full length of the bus. kandy is 1500 mt above the sealevel but weather was hot. Evening started for kurinji kumaran koil.Our bus was big hence could not manouvre the path and all of us got down and walked.We had a climb of nearly800 ft at angle of 60 degrees. The temple is under renovation and we reached there during pooja time.The temple is taken care of by the students hindu maha sabha and we had a short bhajan.During pooja time of the temple outsiders singiing is not allowed in hindu temples in srilanka."Kurinji kumaranin darisanam kan kolla katchi"In kandy saw selva ganapathy temple ,kadirgama devalayam built in line of katirgamam and buddha relic temple.Could not correlate hoew buddha's tooth came to kandy.The relic temple was very huge.and architecture stupendous. people in srilanka, hindus, buddhists all dress in white when ging to temple.The floewers for sale is beatifully arranged. mainly lotus is offered to buddha.After a long day returned to hilltop hotel and had a good sleep.
